Corsair Airplane
The only wreck that was not intentionally sunk as an artificial reef, the corsair was ditched in 1945 by its pilot during WWII as it ran out of fuel. The aircraft is in remarkable condition and even has an intact glass face on one of the cockpit gauges. The plane sits in 107 feet of water and is the only site where we have seen hundreds of the elusive garden eels.

South Shore Dive Sites

The Honolulu South Shore provides us with some of the most exciting shipwreck scuba diving on Oahu. The dive sites are close to Waikiki and the kewalo basin harbor so the boat ride is fast and easy.

Dive site one - Sea tiger - Viz great 70' - Lots to see today, eagle rays, frog fish, viper morays, and several green sea turtles.

Dive site two - Kewalo pipe - viz great 60' - Always a fun dive from the boat (easy) or even from shore (lots of work) and plenty of sights. Huge schools of fish today ranging in all sizes. About six different types of eels and a halk bill turtle at the end of the pipe.

Sea Tiger
This 189-foot vessel was originally sunk outside of Honolulu by Voyager Submarines in 1999 as an artificial reef / Shipwreck to be enjoyed by their passengers. Voyager is no longer in bussines and only scuba divers frequent the Sea Tiger now. This ship wreck offers penetration through its cargo holds, inner cabins, engine room, narrow passageways, and stairwells of the ship. It Resting in 123 feet of water is the deepest recreational scuba diving ship wreck on the island of Oahu, Hawaii.

Kewalo Basin Pipe
This site provides you with easy navigation and the opportunity to see the elusive dragon eel. There is an abundance of aquatic life to observe and photograph. Maximum depth is 60 feet.

Check out our PADI scuba courses for instruction on the Wreck Diver Course or the Deep Diver Course while diving on these ship wrecks.
